چکیده
The advantages of a horizontal half-wave resonant antenna f or very-low-frequency propagation experiments lie in its r elatively simple and inexpensivc construction and in its radiation pattern which is maximum in the vertical direction. The radiation fields of this type of antenna located at the s urface of a condu cting earth consist of: 1, A horizontally polarized space-wave field radiated in the perpendicular bisector plane of the antenna; and 2, a vertically polarized groundwave field radia ted along the axis of t he antenna. This vertically polarized field is zero at right angles to the an tenna. These fi elds have been experimentally verified. The use of a 50-kilocycle horizontal half-"'ave antenna for vertical-incidence ionospheric sounding experime nts is described. The radiation pat tern of this a ntenn a is ,,-ell s uited for ionospheric soundings sin ce a receiver located in t he g roundwave null receives only t h e r eflected s kywave s ign al. STATISTICAL DISTRIBUTION OF INCIDENT WAVES TO MOBILE ANTENNA IN MICROCELLULAR ENVIRONMENT AT 2.15 GHz
This paper presents measured statistical distributions of incident waves to a mobile antenna in urban microcellular and indoor environments at 2.15 GHz. The power spectra of azimuth angle, elevation angle, and Doppler frequency are presented for horizontally and vertically polarized waves separately. The measurement campaign has been performed using a spherical dual-polarized antenna array and ...
متن کاملCircularly Polarized Circular Slot Antenna Array Using Sequentially Rotated Feed Network
This paper presents the design, simulation, and measurement of two low-cost broadband circularly polarized (CP) printed antennas: a single element and an array at C band. The proposed single element antenna is excited by an L-shaped strip with a tapered end, located along the circular-slot diagonal line in the back plane. From the array experimental results, the 3 dB axial ratio bandwidth can r...
متن کاملMicrostrip Antenna Gain Enhancement using Near Zero Refractive Index Metamaterials
Some useful features of microstrip patch antennas are low profile, low weight and easy fabrication. However this type of antenna suffers from having a low gain, caused by propagation surface waves. In this paper, a new near zero refractive index metamaterial (MTM) unit cell is designed and fabricated as a superstrate over a Rectangular Microstrip Patch Antennas (RMPA). In order to obtain a maxi...
متن کاملTransference of SH-Waves in Fluid Saturated Porous Medium Sandwiched Between Heterogeneous Half-Spaces
A mathematical model is considered to investigate the behavior of horizontally polarized shear waves (SH-waves) in fluid saturated porous medium sandwiched between heterogeneous half-spaces. Heterogeneity in the upper half-space is due to linear variation of elastic parameters, whereas quadratic variation has been considered for lower half-space. The method of separation of variables and Whitta...
متن کاملDesign and Development of High Gain, Low Profile and Circularly Polarized Cavity-backed Slot Antennas Using High-order Modes of Square Shaped Substrtae Integrated Waveguide Resonator
In In this paper, two low profile, single fed cavity backed slot antennas providing a circularly polarized (CP) wave are introduced. One of the antennas presents a right-handed CP (RHCP) wave, while the other one offers a left handed CP (LHCP) wave. The proposed antennas consist of a square shaped Substrtae Integrated Waveguide (SIW) cavity incorporatng two couples of radiating slots to radiate...
